Deja Vu

Saturday, June 30, 2012

No I'm not having deja vu... and no I'm not talking about the strip club 'Deja Vu'.
I'm talking about these awesome deals I just scored from the shop Deja Vu.

www.shopdejavu.com.
Emphasis on the 'shop'. Do not leave out the 'shop'... unless you want to take a gander at a strip club website. I won't judge. Ha!

I first stumbled upon a Deja Vu boutique in Seaside, Florida. I immediately LOVED the unique, eclectic collection. Recently, I got the chance to learn more about the shops owner, Stephanie, through Casey's blog, in THIS post.

Photobucket
Turns out Stephanie is pretty freakin' awesome. At 21, she took a chance & started her clothing business with just $4,000 & has turned it into a huge success. Read Casey's post above for more. Anyway... today she is offering her facebook fans a whopping 40% off by using the code 'USA' at checkout. Here are my steals for the day...

This dress. Find it HERE.

And this dress. Find it HERE.

Love love love. Can't wait to get these bad boys in the mail. Now that will make for a good mail day my friends. Happy shopping :)

Bedroom Progress

Friday, June 29, 2012

So do you guys remember when I told you I was ready for a bedroom makeover HERE? Well I'm finally making some progress. The walls are painted, I have some accessories that fit with the gray & yellow theme, and I'm happy to say that I've purchased all new bedding.

Here is a little preview for you all... sorry for the lighting. The sun gets super annoying in here in the afternoon. Hello glare on the tv.
Comforter & light gray shams//Target. Gray quilt & quilted shams//Home Goods. Throw pillows//Target.
Excuse the disaster end tables. Didn't feel the need to clean those up before snapping the pic. See the leather insert in the headboard? I'm contemplating covering that section in burlap because I hate HATE the leather. Thoughts?

Here is my other little accomplishment.
Shutters are so much fun to use in decorating.
$3 picture frame + great quote.

Next on my list -
1.) Recover leather headboard insert with burlap.
2.) New look for the lamp shades. I'm thinking of dressing my current shades up with ribbon.
3.) Get a couple more throw pillows for the bed & maybe a knit blanket to up the yellow factor.

Maybe these....
See them at THIS etsy shop.

Wish me luck that I can actually finish this project in a timely manner. We'll see!

Happy Friday!

Tid + Bits (The Little Things)

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Photobucket

Thought I'd share some of the small things that have made me smile this week. Changing it up & linking up with Alicia from The Crowley Party for Tid + Bits.

This journal from Target, where else?! I just loved the quote. This is how I try to live my life. It's good to see a daily reminder.

Twinnings tea in the morning. Just call me Anastasia Steele.

Earring making. It's fun to get your creative juices flowing & even more fun to wear one of your own creations :)

New flats for Target for super cheap.

Random pick at the library turned out to be an awesome read. Highly recommend Jason Starr.

Putting together this cheap outfit! Shirt - Old Navy $3. Jeans - Goodwill (Gap) $3. Belt - FREE! Included with dress from Versona. Shoes - not pictured, random brand, consignment find wedges.

Watching my baby sunbathe. He just loves the sun, even with all of that fur.

Don't forget to stop & smile at the little things :)

Mondayyyy Confessions

Monday, June 25, 2012

Hi lovelies! It's been a while, eh? Don't worry. I wasn't about to skip out on Monday Confessions!

I confess... I'm so happy to say that I had my closing last Friday... and even happier that now I plan to treat myself to a facial to celebrate!

I confess... that I found myself a new not-so-guilty pleasure. These bad boys. Blueberries dipped in vanilla greek yogurt, then frozen.

I confess... that I didn't sell quite as much as I hoped at my art show a couple of weeks ago... but I still had a good time! I even had a "fire sale" at the end so I could unload a few more goods. One of the highlights may or may not have been the free drink tickets. Hello reisling.
A few little pictures of my booth spread. See more HERE.

I confess... that I haven't been a very good blogger lately! I meant to link up for It's Ok Thursday & Sunday Social, but it just didn't happen. Sista's been busy!

I confess... that Kobe has a new best friend. He spends hours with this kid running around the backyard, circling the couch over & over... He is in love.

I confess... that sometimes all it takes to put a smile on my face is a view like this right in my own backyard.
It's the little things!

Make it a good week!

xoxo (doubled up today)

It's OK Thursday - you better belive it!

Thursday, June 21, 2012

It has been one of those days today folks. I'm linking up for It's Ok Thursday.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok... to overthink things. Although most of the time I wish I was NOT an overthinker!

It's ok... to not let myself get excited about my pay day tomorrow until after my closing takes place, hopefully without a hitch!

It's ok... that I cleaned someone elses house this morning then got home and opted to read my book in the sun rather than clean OUR house.

It's ok... to skip zumba in favor of boom bozz pizza.

It's ok... to embrace the messy hair! Thanks to Kelly and her challenge, I've been trying! I still have to use dry shampoo each day that I skip washing or I would be a walking disaster.

It's ok... to let your hanging baskets get extremely close to croaking between waterings. Oops.

Anddd it's ok that I'm going to call it an early night and jump in bed to read some more tonight. Sorry trash tv, we'll catch up soon.

A Real Estate Agent's Nightmare...

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

What is a real estate agent's nightmare you ask?...

Snooki & JWoww's house.

Can you say leopard, zebra & pink OVERLOAD? Ha! I do love the floors, though. And hey, it's not like they are trying to sell, so more power to them! I would go nuts in this house. Literally insane.

Sorry for being MIA lately, I've been super busy! Recap soon :)

Sunday Social

Sunday, June 17, 2012

Linking up again for the Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

Favorite movie of all time?
I totally don't have just one favorite movie. Oh wait, yes I do! The Holiday with Cameron Diaz & Kate Winslet! Gosh. I guess another close frontrunner would have to bee Sweet Home Alabama. Also ANYTHING Jennifer Aniston. Also love What Happens in Vegas, Save the Last Dance, The Sandlot, Big Daddy, Tommy Boy... the list goes on!

Oh & don't forget about trashy lifetime movies! These are the best for a rainy day. The acting is so bad most of the time that you can do 20 other things while you watch & still follow along!

Favorite movie quote?
I'm all about funny movie lines. From Big Daddy:

[Discussing Vanessa's new senior citizen boyfriend]
Vanessa: He has a five year plan.
Sonny: What is it? "Don't die"?

Best movie to watch for a girls night in?
After watching all of the Sex & The City show reruns, why not watch the movies?!

Best breakup movie?
He's just not that into you. Or a lifetime movie marathon. Duh.

Favorite celeb eye candy?
Any Prison Break fans out there?? Remember this guy?!
Yep. Drool.

Which movie stars closet would you want to raid?
Gretchen Rossi from RHOC. She always looks amazing!

Or Rihanna to play dress up :)

That's all for this week! Enjoy your Sunday :)

First Ever Sponser Spotlight

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Hey loves. So I'm happy to announce that I have jumped on the sponser wagon! That's right. Want to swap buttons? Stay tuned. So this was supposed to run on Saturday, I tried to do a scheduled post, but for some reason it didn't happen! So without further adieu...

First up we have the lovely Elizabeth from Fearless & Frugal. I love Elizabeth's blog because she is all about saving money and spending wisely. I can always count on her frugal yet fabulous fashion finds, diy spa treatments... you name it. Her passion really comes through in her writing. Meet Elizabeth.

My name is Elizabeth and I blog over at Fearless & Frugal! I'm a grad school student in the Pittsburgh area (Let's go Pens!) studying Elementary Education. In my free time I love to blog (duhh!), practice yoga and Pilates, read, spend time at BF's farm, experiment with cooking and watch way too much reality TV (the housewives shows are my fave). I love the beach, country music, a great cup of coffee and anything that has to do with the Disney Princesses or Disney World (yes, I'm 5 years old).

I started my blog to share my experiences at becoming more frugal -- my senior year of college I quit my job to focus on school and I watched my bank account dwindle as I got too careless with my money. I quickly realized I had to live my life a little differently if I wanted to avoid major financial problems. I started spending less and when I needed to spend, I spent more wisely. My blog is a way to share with anyone out there how I am trying to live a more fearless and frugal lifestyle :)
Isn't she just a doll? Now hop on over to her blog & say hello. I know you will find her just as awesome as I do!

Now... let's swap some buttons! Feel free to grab my button from my sidebar, & email me so I can grab yours. samanthageorge01[at]yahoo.com

Friday Letters

Friday, June 15, 2012

Goodness I've just been all about the link ups lately! Today I'm changing up my regular "Friday Favorites" & linking up for "Friday Letters"...

Photobucket

Dear Pretty Little Liars,  I'm so glad you're back in my life! My Tuesdays are now complete. Plus, I just found out from a fellow blogger that you started out as a book series. You are on my reading list!
Dear Craft Show, I was excited for you to come, but now that tonights the night I'm sort of wishing I didn't commit so I could spend my Friday night elsewhere. Oh well. Please let me sell lots of items. K? Thanks. Dear Brownies, Can you pretty please quit calling my name from the kitchen counter already? Dear Crazy Clients, Don't you know that the only way to sell your house is to actually let me show it? Get with the program! Dear Bodyrock.tv, I'm so glad to be back in the routine, I feel oh so much better with you in my life everyday. Dear Target Gift Card, I meant to spend you on new containers for my kitchen, but somehow walked out of the store with a dress, a skirt, and some cute little journals. Oops. Dear Friday, I'm oh so glad you are here & now it's time to enjoy the weekend! Let's do this thing!

Good Morning Sunshine

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

How would you like to wake up in the morning to this face?

Too bad if I let Kobe in our bed, we would literally be covered in white dog hair when we woke up.

Speaking of dog hair.. I got one of these 'furminator' brushes.
Ok, I got a knockoff from Amazon... & I could make another dog with all of the hair I've brushed out over the past week.

Gross. See?

Yep. Even Kobe thinks so.

If you have a dog that sheds, you need one of these bad boys. Look on amazon for knock off brands to save some money :)

Fab Find - Mozz Downtown

One of the things Jason & I love to do together is try out different restaurants around town. On Sunday night, neither one of else felt like cooking, so we decided to try out this restaurant downtown called Mozz.

We loved the fact that Mozz sits in a really cool area of downtown Louisville nicknamed "NuLu", surrounded by little boutiques & shops + a salvage yard that is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Also, the fact that we had a 'buy one entree, get one FREE' coupon didn't hurt either.

So off to Mozz we went where we enjoyed an awesome italian family style dinner, and this....

Cherry beer. Who knew? This was Founder's Cherry Beer on draft. Yum. May have to find this for home!

The restaurant decor was sort of upscale eclectic.

Our view out the window.

I just love trying random places. Tell me, where do I have to go eat if I come to your city???
This will totally come in handy when planning little getaway trips!

Imperfectly Perfect

Monday, June 11, 2012

This Monday we're doing something a little different. It's still Monday Confessions, but I'm taking it to a whole new level!

Here in blogland, sometimes it looks like other girls just have the perfect life. Perfect job, perfect boyfriend, perfect little family. Well, I'm here to tell you that is never the case. Why? Because nobody's life is perfect. So for todays Monday Confessions, I'm diving to what is so not perfect in my life, but why my life is 'imperfectly' perfect right now for me :)

I confess... I'm the queen of odd jobs. Right now, I still have to do other things to supplement my real estate income. Up until November of last year, I had a full time job in addition to real estate, so this is really my first full time year as an agent. What do I do, you ask? I clean and organize houses, both residential & new construction, plus do a little bit of landscaping work. I also have an Etsy Shop where I sell hand painted glassware. Nope, not the most glamorous work, but it totally works for me. I know some people would cringe at the thought of cleaning someone's house or tending to someone's flower beds or garden, but it allows me to make my own schedule, be my own boss, and bring in more money in less amount of time, therefore allowing me to focus most of my time on real estate. Plus, I'm a very 'hands on' person & actually kind of like it! So, have I 'made it' yet? I guess not completely. But I know I'm well on my way!

I confess... that my boyfriend & I have been together for 4 years and we live together and are not married. Nor do we really even discuss it that often. I don't know, I've never really been a wedding kind of girl... never really had those fantasies about what my wedding would be like one day. Plus I'm cheap, I just think I would freak out at the thought of planning a wedding & spending all that money! However, I do like going to weddings, so all you pretties out there keep at it! (unless they are on the same day as the UofL UK basketball game. ahem.) I know I want to get married someday, not for the glitzy wedding day, but because I value the commitment. What we have going though, it's working for us right now so that's all that matters.

I confess... I don't have the best relationship with my parents anymore. They just don't support some of my personal choices. I've sort of come to peace with it. Sometimes you just have to stand up for what you believe in & stay true to yourself.

I confess... that even though I spend time cleaning & organizing other people's houses... I don't always give our house the same attention. Need to work on that...

I confess... I stretch myself too thin at times. I think this goes back to not saying no as often as I should. Must work on this, too. Need to schedule "me" time for cleaning up and organizing my own life! ha.

That's enough dirty laundry to last a little while, huh? Told you. My life is not perfect, but it's imperfectly perfect for me!

What makes your life imperfectly perfect??

Link-Up! Sunday Social :)

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Hey loves. So today is Sunday. Today I could think of zero to blog about. So as I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee (Starbucks blonde roast + hazelnut creamer from home=amazing) & I come across this new link-up - The Sunday Social. So without further adieu...

I'm linking up with Ashley & Neely for...

Sunday Social

On to today's questions about blogging...

How did you come up with your blog name?
I wanted something that was fun, but also let you know what I did for a living - real estate! I thought the diva part was cute, but ironic because I'm pretty far from a diva in real life. Basically I wanted to show my readers that this is a fun blog where we keep it real, so Confessions of a Real Estate Diva was born.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Hmm... I would have to say meeting all of you girls & reading your blogs. I love getting the chance to see how other people live in different parts of the country... and guess what? I think we're all alike in some ways. Nobody's life is perfect, but we all manage to make it a good time! I also love taking the time for myself to get my thoughts down, write a fun post, etc.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without?
I'm going to make this a two part question...
1.) 50 Shades of Grey! So many of my bloggy friends were obsessed, so I just had to try it for myself. Totally obsessed! Now I'm finished & sort of having withdrawals.
2.) I've taught myself all kinds of web related tricks that I can't believe I didn't figure out before! I love photobucket, for one. You can edit your pictures in so many different ways, convert to HTML, add text, etc. My fave (free) photo editing site for sure!

Facebook or Twitter?
I'm going to have to say... Facebook. But my opinion is biased because I just now gave in to Twitter, so I'm still trying to get into it. I'm sure the day will come once I start to follow all of you little tweeters out there. Ha!

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?
My girl crush. Emma Stone for sure. I just love her. & Zooey Deschanel is a close second.

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
Still sort of a newbie, but loving it. It's real. This is my life, totally NOT perfect, because life is never perfect. I love meeting new bloggy friends & so stop & say hello :)

Now you want to link up? Go HERE!

Until next time...

High Five for Friday... Ahhh yeah!

Friday, June 8, 2012

Hello my little pretties... It's Friday & I'm linking up with Lauren for High Five for Fridays!
Photobucket
Is it just me, or did this week go by crazy fast? I think so. This week I'm combining my favorite things I did this week along with my favorite finds from around the web!

1.) First up, this spritzer. Remember it from THIS POST? Bottom line, it's Friday. You need no better reason to try it out.

2.) Doggie play date. This is Kobe's BFF, Boston. Safe to say they wore each other out big time!

3.) Went to a marketing seminar & it inspired me to make my own logo seperate from my real estate company :) Plus, I figured out how to make my own website using this easy site - wix.com

There is my logo. If anyone wants to see my site for an example, let me know :) Most of the templates could work for any business. Not as good as a custom website, but hey it's free!

4.) Found this on trusty Iowa Girl Eats... Looks pretty a-m-a-z-i-n-g if you ask me. On the menu for next week! Full recipe HERE.

5.) This chair. Major want!
Source: fab.com via Samantha on Pinterest

And I'll leave you with this quote for the day!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Tonight we will be visiting our "E" restaurant - El Mundo. For those of you that don't know, we are eating through the alphabet & I highly recommend it!
